- 6 hamburger bunsgate
- 6 slices Cheddar or American cheese
- green lettuce
| Preparation – Fake Fish Fillets | Add the artichokes, 1½ cup bread crumbs, nori, Old Bay seasoning, celery salt, black pepper, smoked paprika and vegetable oil to a food processor. Blend until just combined (don’t over process; you still want some flaky artichoke pieces remaining). Divide into 4 to 6 equal portions and form patties. Refrigerate for ½ hour to set.
Once the patties are cooked, heat the oil in a pan. Place the flour, eggs and 2 cups breadcrumbs in separate bowls, season the flour with salt and pepper. To bread the patties, dust with flour, dusting off excess, then coat in egg, letting excess drip off and top with breadcrumbs. Repeat until all patties are breaded.
Working in batches, fry patties in oil until golden brown, 1-2 minutes per side. Transfer to a wire rack and season with salt.
| Preparation – Tartar sauce | In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and season to taste.
| To serve | Spread tartar sauce on bottom bun, top with sirloin fish, cheese and lettuce.
